Follow me over the next few months as I study climate with The School for Field studies in the Patagonia region of Chile & Argentina.

Hi everybody! Before the ball gets rolling in the next couple of weeks and I’m off to Chile, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Giuseppe Inglima and I’m a rising senior at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (yes, Amish Country). I study Environmental Science with an Environmental Studies and Policy minor. It wasn’t the original academic path I had planned on going down when I first got to F&M, but it’s by far the most fulfilling and incredible work I have ever done.
When I’m not involved in academics, I dedicate most of my time to being a captain on the F&M Men’s Rowing team. Entering my senior year is a bittersweet feeling knowing that I only have a few month lefts with my teammates and the sport that I love so much, but it’s also something I’d like to keep in my life even after I graduate. Special shoutout to you guys! And Seth, I know you’re reading this so don’t think you can skip out on planks while I’m gone.

I’m originally from Bucks County, Pennsylvania which is about 50 minutes North of Philadelphia: The Greatest or Worst City in America (depending on who you ask). However, I can assure you that we’re more than just a good cheesesteak and our sports fans aren’t angry, they just have a lot of heart.
Whenever I have free time I try to be outside as much as possible. I feel like I’m the most myself when I’m backpacking and hiking, and one of my goals is to thru-hike the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. You can also usually find me in my hammock somewhere with a book.

From now until December I’ll be posting photos, videos, and personal accounts and thoughts during my travels in and around Patagonia. I hope you will all enjoy the journey with me, and thank you to my friends, family, SFS, FEA, and Ali Janicek and Claire Retterer from the F&M Joseph International Center for all of the help and support!
